The angle is, however, quite comfortable to use for most people at different heights. The docking surface is flat and forces you to use that angle. The only downside to this dock is that it doesn’t allow for multiple docking angles. The magnet on the shower head is just right in that it isn’t too strong that it needs to be yanked off to release the shower head or too weak that it falls off by itself. As long as you’ve brought it close enough, it’ll snap into place and stay there until you pull it off again. You don’t need to align or see the dock as the magnets do it for you. When you need to use the shower in other positions, you simply pull off the shower head from the dock, use it then put it back even with your eyes closed. When docked, Magnetix showerheads are well-positioned to serve as fixed showerheads whereby you can take a shower handsfree. With the Moen Magnetic remote dock, the handheld shower head magnetically attaches to the dock. In other shower heads, it is a cradle which you have to be accurate with each time you need to use the handheld showerhead. This product is covered under a limited lifetime warranty. The most unique aspect of the Magnetix range of shower heads from Moen is the magnetic docking system. Unfortunately, a number of bad reviews seem to attest to this shortcoming. Important connections like hose threads and mounts are best made of tough metals, but on the 26100EP they are plastic. The critical mounting section that connects the hose to the wall is all plastic. These parts are likely to be the shower head’s limiting factors. Unfortunately, many of its key components are plastic rather than steel. Its chromed stainless steel parts are great, and should give you no durability problems. We’ll be honest, this is where the 26100EP comes up short. The rear of the shower head attaches to the mount through the use of a convenient magnet. “Docking” seems like a term most often associated with science fiction, but it does apply here. There are three separate removable flow limiters that can increase that rate. From the factory, it has a 1.75-gallon-per-minute flow rate, which some people may find a bit too minimal. The nozzle is designed to be environmentally conscious. Just run your finger over the silicone nozzles while the water is running and it will crumble and flow out. The scale can limit flow, but fortunately is brittle enough to be broken up. If you have hard water, your nozzles can slowly accumulate calcium carbonate, also known as scale. In keeping with modern trends, each nozzle outlet is made of silicone. Just rotate the bezel with the simple thumb-paddle to select your preferred spray. Moen has included a 3.5-inch-wide sprayer head that switches between six spray modes. And its metal anti-kink outer layer protects the hose from damage. With a 60-inch hose, you’ll never struggle to rinse any hard-to-reach area. A removable shower head on a hose means your cleanliness is no longer tied to one point on the wall. The most obvious feature of the Moen 26100EP is its hose. User-friendly features like magnetic docking make them even more attractive. It’s hard to say why, though, because they can be very helpful. In many countries shower heads on hoses are the norm, but that trend hasn’t really caught in the US. Flow rate is lower than many users expect.
